Font family, size, styles, and variations

Preview Font Limitation

The terminal preview can only display fonts available in your browser. For custom fonts, they must be installed on your system. Ghostty's built-in default is JetBrains Mono.

The primary font family to use for text rendering.

Font family to use for bold text. Falls back to main font if not set.

Font family to use for italic text. Falls back to main font if not set.

Font family to use for bold italic text. Falls back to main font if not set.

The size of the font in points.

Whether to thicken fonts for better visibility. Currently only affects macOS.

Strength of font thickening when enabled. Valid values are 0-255.

The font style to use for the main font (e.g., 'Heavy', 'Light').

The font style to use for bold text.

The font style to use for italic text.

The font style to use for bold italic text.

Comma-separated list of styles to synthesize if not available (bold, italic, bold-italic).

OpenType font features to enable or disable (e.g., 'calt', 'liga').
